ADVANCED STUDIES IN
MUSIC AND DANCE EDUCATION ORFF-SCHULWERK

Advanced Studies in Music and Dance Education – Orff Schulwerk
will begin on October 3rd, 2016 and will continue to the end of June, 2017.
Entrance Requirements
A completed course of study in music and/or dance pedagogy at an undergradu- ate level in a home or foreign institution with a diploma or degree. Proof of teaching experience in the area of music and dance pedagogy for a period of at least three years. Proof of fluency in the english language, both written and spoken.
Financing the Course
The total cost of the course is to be covered by tuition fees paid by the participants.

Tuition Fees
Approximately EUR 4700,–. A non-refundable registration fee of EUR 400,– will be required after being accepted.

Other Fees
Official documents, books and materials, board and room, excursions, and others. Students are required to pay approx. EUR 18,– per term to the university students ́ association. Costs run between EUR 500,– and EUR 800,– per month, according to individual standards.
Course Credits
56 European Credit Transfer System Points (ECTS). Students from abroad should make arrangements with their local universities for graduate credits.
Housing Information
Will be distributed with the application form along with information about pay- ment of fees.
Application Forms
The deadline for receiving application forms is April 1st, 2016.
Master degree course
A master degree course in order to deepen the knowledge of Orff-Schulwerk is being prepared. The following forms are envisaged:
1. The Special Course: a 9 month course finishing with a certificate.
2. A two year master degree course with 9 months of attendance at the Carl Orff Institute and the second study year with e-learning (including a master's thesis) finishing with a Master of Arts Education.
3. Former graduates of the Special Course can join the second year of the master degree course and complete a master's degree. Details will be on the website once the curriculum and finance plan has been approved of by the Mozarteum University and the Austrian Board of Education.
